Accessibility and Availability

Neighborhood

The residence is ideally situated midway between the charming towns of Huron and Vermilion, nestled along Lake Road in Vermilion Township. The immediate surroundings offer a delightful blend of vintage lakefront cottages, pastoral farmland, wooded expanses, and residences, providing a tranquil and diverse setting. The area attracts a variety of enthusiasts, including boaters, fishermen, birders, cyclists, and beachgoers. Cleveland lies 45 miles to the East, while the thrilling Cedar Point is a mere 15 miles to the West. Nature lovers will find the Old Woman Creek National Estuarine Research Reserve and State Nature Preserve just 3 miles away, with Sheldon Marsh a short 8.5 miles distance—both renowned birdwatching hotspots. For added convenience, the residence is in proximity to the town of Oberlin and the adventure-filled Common Ground Canopy Tours, providing a well-rounded experience for all. Given the home's proximity to Lake Erie, there are certain times of the year when you may encounter insects like midges, mayflies, and spiders. I take proactive measures to manage their presence, but it's an inherent part of lakeside living. Additionally, being close to farmland and woods means that wildlife such as owls, foxes, raccoons, squirrels, and coyotes are not uncommon. You might hear owls hooting or foxes calling out, especially during mating season. If you appreciate nature's beauty and diversity, you'll feel right at home. However, if these aspects aren't your preference, I want you to be informed so you can make the best decision for your stay

Guest Access

You will have private access to entire home except for garage and basement storage area. Home has ample storage in the kitchen and main floor areas. Some cabinets are locked for host's personal storage. Please respect locked doors and cabinets.

My family and I (two parents, two kids) enjoyed staying at Barb’s place while visiting Oberlin. Plenty of space for everyone, the pool was great, the beds were comfortable, and it was very clean. Barb was a great host and very responsive. We would stay again in the future.

The house made my family feel right at home and the pool was a hit. We were going to spend a day during our stay at the islands but ended up hanging out at Barb’s place as the kids just wanted to swim. Barb was super accommodating and I’d highly recommend.

My family and I had a wonderful time! The house was clean and spacious. Barb provided everything and was even thoughtful providing some snacks and beverages! We truly enjoyed having the large pool all to ourselves. We’ve already discussed returning in the future!

Barbs place was just as described and fit our family of 5 with plenty of room to spare. The pool is huge and a great feature! The kitchen has everything you need to cook or grill. Close to cedar point and Sports Force Park. Barb was extra helpful when we needed her! Highly recommend this home.

We ended up at Barb's AirBnB after a last-minute cancellation elsewhere, and we’re so glad we did. This welcoming 3-bedroom, 2-bath home was just what we needed. Barb is a fantastic host—her guidebook of local activities and attractions is the best we’ve seen, and I’ve stayed in many AirBnBs (and grew up in Ohio). She truly goes above and beyond to help guests enjoy their stay. The house was comfortable, well-equipped, and felt like home. One note: there’s a nearby freight train line that runs throughout the day and night. Light sleepers may want to bring ear plugs, but we wouldn't let that stop anyone from staying here. Highly recommended.
